Tennis coaching jobs in Toronto
Lett is not an employer and this is not a salaried post. It is a marketplace where independent tennis tutors in Ontario set their own rate, publish their own courts and hours, and get paid within days of each session. Here is exactly what that pays.
What this is — and what it is not
- Not employment — no salary, no set hours, no guaranteed students.
- Not a lead-generation fee — you are never charged to receive a request.
- Not exclusive — teach at your club, privately, and on Lett at the same time.
- You name the price, from CA$20 a session up. Lett takes 6.5% (CA$5 minimum).
- You choose the courts. Public park, your club, several venues — you publish each one.
- You choose the hours, one slot at a time, and change them whenever.
- Adult students only: Lett is 18+ today, so this covers your adult clients, not junior programs.
What it pays
You set the session price. Lett's commission is 6.5% of it, with a CA$5 minimum — nothing else comes out.

Commission is 6.5% of the session price with a CA$5 minimum — so under about CA$77 a session the CA$5 floor applies and you keep a little less than 93.5%. Lett Pro is CA$14/month and halves the commission to 3.25% (CA$2.50 minimum); at CA$70 a session it pays for itself at about six sessions a month. All prices in CAD. Payments processed by Stripe.
When the money lands
Payment is taken at booking, not after, so a confirmed session is already paid for before you drive to the court. Your share is released to your bank about 72 hours after the session completes — about 24 hours on Lett Pro. If a student cancels late, you keep 70% of the price (85% with Pro) without having to chase anyone for it.
Starting with no students on the app
Be realistic about a new marketplace: Lett will not hand you a full calendar on day one. What it will do from day one is take the admin off your hands for the students you already teach. Send them a direct 1:1 invitation to a slot — they book and pay in the app, reminders go out automatically, receipts are issued for you, and every completed session builds the rating and history that new students read later.

Is this a job, or self-employment?
Self-employment. You are an independent contractor, not a Lett employee — you set your own rates, choose your own hours, pick your own venues, and decide which requests to accept. Lett does not assign you students or guarantee a volume of work. You need to be at least 18 and legally entitled to work as an independent contractor where you live.
When do I get paid?
After each completed session, straight to your bank account. Funds are released about 72 hours after the session — about 24 hours with Lett Pro. Payouts run through Stripe, so you connect a Stripe account once during setup and then never think about it again.
Do I need a coaching certification?
Lett does not require one to list. Any certifications and experience you add appear in the Credentials section of your profile, where students see them before they book — so they are worth adding if you have them.
Where do sessions happen?
Wherever you already teach. You publish the venues yourself alongside your availability — your club, a public court, more than one location if you move around. Students see the exact venue before they book.
Can I bring the students I already teach?
Yes, and it is the fastest way to start. Send a student a direct 1:1 invitation to one of your slots — no public listing needed — and they book and pay in the app. Scheduling, reminders, payment, and receipts stop being your problem, and the session history builds your profile for students who find you later.
What happens if a student cancels late?
You are still paid. A late student cancellation pays you 70% of the session price — 85% with Lett Pro. Students who cancel early get a full refund, so nobody is punished for planning ahead.
Can I teach juniors on Lett?
Not today. Lett is an 18+ platform: every account holder and every person receiving a session must be 18 or older. If your work is mostly junior programs, Lett will only cover your adult clients for now.
Is Lett available outside Ontario?
Not yet. Lett is live in Ontario, Canada today, on iPhone. Other provinces, an Android app, and the United States are planned but not open — this page will say so when they are.
